Yes is the easy answer...but from there it gets more complicated. While, in a perfect world, everyone would want to spend a bit more money if it meant saving some more trees or lessening their carbon footprint, the world isn't perfect and most, if not a large majority, of people will not just hand over an extra 10k for a leaf symbol on the back of their car. Most people need to look at the actual savings...and hybrids don't always measure up, some needing an entire decade of gas savings to pay back that premium.
Take a look at this article which outlines some models that don't cost an extra three-months pay, and will still save you money at the pump without killing quite as many trees as the original models...
