World's Fastest Camera
We've all seen the "bullet-through-the-apple" shot above (or at least you have now) from a 1964 MIT experiment and i've always thought, "WOW...that's some slow-mo!" Wellllll I might have to re-evaluate that reaction from now on. Modern MIT scientists have created a camera that films at a TRILLION frames per second...Ya...TRILLION. That's a bit more than the 500,000 fps used for the "bullet" trick. In fact, it's so much faster than the "bullet" camera, that if you were to film a bullet flying through the frame, it would take about three years for it to cruise all the way across your screen.
But there a reason for all that speed. They use the camera to film something pretty fast: light. Check it out below.
