Why It's "Burning"

Soooo since i just got done with that time-lapse, I thought i'd show some up-close photos of some of the detail in the piece that get lost when you move to far away and really bring out the symbolic "burning" part of "the burning river."

crown, hand, eyes, teeth

envelop, skull. pointing hand
I'm going to be taking more (and far less blurry) photos tonight, but I thought it'd be a good idea for both the understanding of the title and also understanding the feel of the piece a bit better. I had felt, since the completion, that it appeared much more cheery, pretty and unthoughtful than it actually was. It had this air of unimportance that I didn't get when standing in front of the piece.

Anyways, enjoy investigating the piece when you get the chance and keep an eye out for more little "secrets" hidden in the river...
