Beast Half as Brave
This my new piece as of right now...it's gone through about three or four massive overhauls (step-by-step photos to come) so far and I really like the intensity of it right now. Called "Beast Half as Brave", it's meant to evoke a primal quality, a timid rage almost. The idea was to create the feeling of watching from a hidden or dark hiding place, looking out onto something in excited, yet fearful, anxiousness. The title shows that while you seem to be the one in the seat of power, the one actually watching and seeing that which approaches, you are also the one hiding. the one removing oneself from the scene while the vibrant orange illuminates the area. In reality, the viewer becomes the weak and timid, only leeching power by secluding themselves. The orange is the real ruler of the piece while the viewer can only peek and strain around the shadows to gain some of its warmth and beauty...
