From what I've heard, the guy's a dick. From this story, it kind of backs that up. From Baldwin's own account, he just doesn't get it as he admits being asked and refusing to turn off the game. If it's just a game, as he claims, why was it such a big deal to follow the rules as everyone else does.
My first reaction was "why the hell wouldn't he just turn the thing off? Everyone knows the rules on planes...why did he have to make a stink about it in the first place." The second thing was "Baldwin's just pissed he didn't get special treatment as a star" The third thing was "well maybe the airline attendant was a bit overzealous about the thing..."
And now I'm closer to the original reactions. If American Airlines finds his reaction and subsequent tweets speaking out against the airline out-of-line enough to make a public statement, I'm thinking that the airline has a real gripe with what the guy did. And if a company as big as American Airlines has a gripe big enough to make a public statement, I'd suspect he did something wrong.
Shouldn't matter who you are. Follow the rules and be nice.
