Braylon Edwards Sends 79 kids to College

There hasn't been too much news about Braylon Edwards since his "more TDs than Medals" bet he had with friend Micheal Phelps a few years ago and frankly, there isn't much to talk about. Yea he did pretty well last year, but he has played in 8 games and only started 5 in his first year with the 49er's and has barely outperformed Ryan Grant of GB this year in terms of receiving...and that's bad.

BUT, here's an off-the-field story about the guy that is really great. He is following up his "bet" where he told 100 High schoolers that if they could graduate with above a 2.5 GPA, he'd give them 10K for college. 79 of the kids came through and Edwards forked over the $790K promised, sending the kids to colleges across the nation. Now, you may think "he's a millionaire. He can afford it." And that's kind of true...he's made a good deal of money throughout his career...but his salary this season is 1million, leaving him $210,000 following his donation, or less than the league minimum salary. Still more than enough to live on...but more generous than most any other sports star I've heard of recently.
