We Went To The Mountains To See Our Future

If you jump into your future, I believe you'd be shocked how similar a simple glance would look to today. While we imagine the future as having gigantic changes, and while that sometimes happens, life moves on with the normal ebb and flow of the good and bad. Wars start and end, atrocities happen and are forgotten. The tides come and go...and we make mistakes and accomplish success. Not that there aren't big changes and there aren't drastic differences, but when you dont experience the everyday eccentricities and interactions, much of that change and development doesn't happen or isn't apparent.

This piece is that idea. The mountains change...rise and fall. Glaciers move in and out...and they never settle into a permanent structure...but if you just glance at them every so often, you may not notice much of a single change.

Stop looking too far ahead of yourself or you'll never recognize the small things that make us who we are. Sure...the big things shock us and change us...but much of what we are is based on those things that we do everyday. Maybe concentrating on the now...concentrating on the things you can control will not only move you into the future, but it may give you a better handle on how you want to get there as well.
