Our Fathers. Proposal

This is kind of a proposal/hopeful project that I started making the mock-up for yesterday. Tentatively titled Our Fathers, it is intended to be an installation for the viewer to navigate through.

The pieces are 7-8 feet tall and about 2 feet wide. The original intention would be to have them in a specific setting, emerging from the background while also interacting and enhancing it. A forest perhaps, with 20-30 of these "beings" intermingling amongst the trees....or the same amount scattered among the dunes of a desert. Some of them upright, in perfect condition, some overturned, some covered up by the environment, some in pieces from years of decay...The idea is that these "beings" represent our ever-present, connection, dedication, misuse, reunion and glorification of nature. The constant circle of destruction, reconciliation, and rebuilding which all humans experience throughout their life, no matter the culture or time-period.

Our Fathers is meant to visualize our never-ending struggle to live within the world we are presented, our inability to do so, and how our reconciliation with that fact and understanding of it pushes us forward...
