There's a Black Clouded Hanging Over
A composition in black, white, and wood...an investigation into restricting your tools...and an exploration in perception. Do you see any images in the positive and negative spaces? Does your mind create depth? Are these silhouettes or flat black shapes? Did your mind find these objects before being prompted or was it a 2D abstract piece until you read this paragraph?
There's a black cloud hanging over, but is it a literal black cloud or a reference to something else? Or both?
Start a conversation with your work or the work you're looking at. It's a far better way to understand what a piece means to you than just staring or reading a statement.
