Herb Vogel, the unlikeliest of art collectors, yet one of the most influential as well, died July 22nd in a New York City nursing home. The postal worker, who started collecting minimal, conceptual and modern works in the sixties, slowly amassed a world-class collection, never sold anything, and formed relationships with the artists, representing a very rare collector in art; one not interested in the eventual re-sale. Take a look at a man who proved that all you need is passion to make yourself happy.
