After All This Time (The Gathering). The What

This is a new piece about meaning...or lack of meaning...or non-distinct meaning...or misunderstood meaning...or investigating meaning.

The piece depicts a gathering or a movement...some kind of large exodus or pilgrimage. But here, we see hundreds, thousands of "people" all congregated around an empty point. A dark spot at the far right which sits, black, surrounded by countless followers. Is this what they are here to see or are they still waiting? Is the "question" actually what they came for? Is there meaning in nothing?

I find these questions of a pilgrimage interesting. Is it only meaningful if you believe in the destination? Is it the journey or where you find yourself at the end? Is it what you find in the end, or what you find along the way?

If you moved through life and found your end, would you stand there alone, wondering what it all meant...what it all combined to accomplish, or would you simply look back and enjoy what go you to this point? In the end, does it really matter what the point of it all is?
