outrage over Saudi artist's inclusion in a Jerusalem show

Many Saudi's have expressed outrage and even started a petition for the government to censure the artist Ahmed Mater for his inclusion in the show "West End"  in a Jerusalem gallery. While it seems completely uncalled-for from the get-go, the petition seems even more ridiculous the more you read. While many of the opponents claim anything from "normalisation" to "treason", they fail to realize the gallery itself receives no funding from and has no formal attachment to the Israeli government. The article then points out that the artist himself is not even responsible for the piece being included, it was offered from a private collection.

summed up best here
The kind of thinking that lies behind this petition should have been demolished long ago
