So...officially moving into the obsession realm with All For Myself, Vesuvius, and Now That I'm Older by Sufjan off the album "Age of Adz," averaging about 5-10 listens per day for the last two weeks. That's not exactly that weird for me...I'm pretty much a binger in regards to EVERYTHING, but it is interesting in the way that, when I get obsessed with a song, my work usually reflects many of the messages or feelings I associate with that music throughout my process of being obsessed. At the beginning of the obsession it may be a literal translation of the lyrics, toward the end it may be a more personal and introspective view of the song and how I apply it to my own life; What the song means through a "Dan-filtered" layer (for the photoshop enthusiasts out there) or through my eyes (to use a lame saying)..
Anyways, here is my current project, a larger version of the "I Want It All" piece that was placed last week. There's a lot of simplifying to do, and a bit to ad at the same time...to make it seem natural, true and primal, while also containing a bit of the complexity and depth, similar to the aesthetic of the first. This is the point where it will become very successful or too over-worked...and it's a fine, fine line...

I think it needs more of that "neutral brown" color and a greater intentionality with the color |
And below is a cool version I made with photoshop that gives me a few ideas for a new piece...Undoubtedly I will not keep it as minimal, but I really like the combo of gray and white and the composition
