Check out the new ad campaign from the Boy Scouts of America. I was a Scout once and loved it...it was a really fun time, instilled great work ethic and morals and taught you tools that I still use to this day. Besides all that, it's a funny campaign. "Join Boy Scouts, Be a Man."
I think the author of the article misses the boat and takes a very lazy route in criticizing the campaign through connecting it to hipsters and music fests...Instead of actually giving an analysis she basically says everyone's favorite worthless critique "it reminds me of (insert unconnected imagery)." She doesn't even say if it's a bad or good thing...Furthermore she brings up sexual scandal...and while I understand that that's bad, it's about as overused an argument against scouts as is the same argument against the church. Are some people bad? yes, but it's no reason to demonize the whole organization...
Well whatever. I think the campaign is funny and its good to see some brainpower at work instead of the normal "look how pretty nature is and how wholesome we are" crap that usually comes from big groups like th Scouts.
