The Other Problem With the Penn State Fiasco

Now that JoePa's out, all the sport's writers, fans, and critics seem to be applauding the school, criticizing the students for supporting their coach, and waving a parental finger at Penn State and the entire institutions loss of credibility and respect. The problem is that no one is talking about the REAL problem. The fact that a coach was molesting kids for the last fifteen years, no matter where it was.

I'm all for punishing Paterno, the AD, the president and McQueary (the guy who actually witnessed the act) but where are the articles demonizing the guy who actually molested the kids? Where are the statements about guilt or innocence, where are the reporters that should be rushing to question his attorney about what really happened?

Answer: they are at Paterno's house, continuing to write their stories about an 80 yr old coach who didn't do anything illegal, didn't witness anything illegal, and who's job does not include instigating an investigation. Why are we stuck talking about firing a coach when there is a guy who should be facing life imprisonment? Don't get me wrong, he screwed up. He contributed to this continuing...but be real...who's the real bad guy here? Who should be getting demonized? The eighty year old coach who simply "should have done more" or the guy who used Penn State locker rooms as his headquarters for molesting what is estimated to be up to 20 kids?
