5 Hits and Misses from Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto wrapped up leaving us with a couple really cool new concepts and a bunch of rather...mediocre attempts. Now, my opinion is all based on the info here, and mostly aesthetics. I'm not a car guy...I don't know much about engines and so I can't really comment on the actual ability of the cars...but hey, that's not really what pictures are for anyway and I'm not giving any purchasing advice...just saying what I like.

I thought the Fusion, Acura, and Lexus concepts are just stunning. The Fusion does a great job at making a sedan look like a muscle car and gives a family car that aggression any mid-life crisis would require...

The Acura is a great looking supercar. It isn't overly flamboyant with it's ridges, accenting or styling, but it, very emphatically, screams speed, power, and action, and still keeps a foot in reality. It's a stunning car that doesn't require a jump into a comic-book superhero world for it to seem real.

The Lexus.... It's a great looking car. Really like it. I just think it's too over the top for me, and it has to do with the candy red and excessive chrome. I'm not a chrome guy. I think the car itself looks awesome, but the colors just really don't land well for me. So, the design of the car itself is very nice, but I just really am not a fan of the coloring and chrome. I think a white paint job with flat black would look great on this car.

I think the Porsche and the Cadillac are here more for performance changes. Yes, they are nice looking cars...but as concepts, the looks just don't interest me. They look like models that are already out on the road...I'm sure their performance and interiors are probably great...but from a looks stand-point, not super impressive, and I'm not gonna be driving on the Autobahn any time soon....
