Beatus: A Book of Verses

Beatus: A Book of Verses is a multi-panelled piece on the outside and inside of a menu booklet. It's generally a piece about how to live your life. Beatus is a latin word meaning happy, fortunate or blissful, and basically, the "book" is supposed to display ways of reaching that. The "verses" of the book are actually two panels which display (not completed quite yet) ways of better living, ways to lead a more beneficial life. The outside of the book is colorful, lively and vibrant, meant to excite the viewer, to get them to want to "read" the book. The inner pages are simplified in color, showing that the key to the happiness is not about flash, but about basic ideas and morals. The lack of pages also speaks to the simplicity of a happy life....

Picture a book titled "The Key to Success" layered in gold, mirror, jewels, and beautiful accents...yet, when you open the book, on a worn, parchment page, simple letters read "patience." That is the concept (hmmmm that's a good idea too...maybe this will end up being a two-parter) and while the imagery right now is very vague...after another bit of work, I think the message will stand clearer.
