Dark Matter

Really bad color here...but that's what happens when you take photos in near-darkness.

This piece is called "Dark Matter" and I suppose it's in reference to the idea of the "unknown" rather than the darkness in the piece. It's a small piece...only 5x8" or something. But I really like the impact of it. The weathered edge, the splatters...the tiny bit of color. I think it all just adds up to a very aesthetically pleasing composition as well as a mysterious simplicity. What is the "object"? What is the color? What does it mean?

I suppose...it means to make you ask the question...and responds with a deafening silence.
