Civil War Sub Revealed

Pulled from the ocean floor over a decade ago, "The Hunley" was the world's first combat successful submarine after it sank a union ship in 1864, and then subsequently sank itself due to unknown reasons (though it had sank multiple times during practice runs). The Hunley was a marvel of engineering, employing a number of soldiers to hand-crank the ship under the water while it crept closer to large union ships, planted torpedo's on their side, and then, potentially, made a stealthy escape...

The ship had never been seen in it's entirety, as a decade long preservation project is still underway. Tons of sediment were removed from the inside of the 42 foot ship including bones from all crew-members, fragments of clothing, and even the fabled "lucky bent coin" of the captain. Check it out.
