This is my newest piece and I haven't quite figured out a title yet. I like it...but I think I let myself go a bit overboard. I don't think it's a finished piece at the first photo, but I think the marks carry a much better weight there than in the finished piece. Despite the action and energy of the larger "finished" photo, it seems uncontrolled, unfocused. I think I just got a bit carried away with the mark-making....So I don't know...I think the first and second photos represent very different ideas of the same piece. The first a bit melancholy, subtle, meandering. The second is explosive, wild and uncontrollable....And I suppose it depends which idea or message I like better.
