Pathmaker

And here's the last image I was working on last night...

Simple illustration  of a stone with a marking. I was interested in the idea that this symbol could mean nothing whatsoever, yet placed on a stone at the right place, it takes on a directional meaning which many could understand and would follow down a path...

The symbol means something based on where it's placed, and means something else if placed in a different location. I think that duality of purpose is a large reason why I use abstacted symbols in my work...and a big reason why I hope my work connects with people on a basic and instinctual level....

Also a really good reason for why I think much of my work would be really cool to see out in the world, outside of gallery walls where it can interact with that which surrounds it.
