The Great Loss of The Great Auk


Everyone knows about the penguin, our favorite jolly little waddling flightless bird...but barely anyone knows about the Great Auk, for whom the current "penguins" were named. It was over 2 feet tall, could not fly, was the largest 'razorbill' that ever lived, and went extinct due to over-hunting in the early 1800s...
