While DNA evidence becomes more and more important in our search for justice, the "eye witness" account has almost fallen off the map. No longer is vaguely pointing to a picture lineup enough to convince a jury...no longer are police taking a witness' word as fact. But the problem still persists. People are wrongly convicted all the time because of inaccurate eye witness accounts when DNA isn't available, and without DNA, proving innocence can be even harder than convincing a jury of guilt.
Why are we so caught up with the eye witness, when time and time again, it's been proven as a grossly inaccurate form of evidence?
