Cities of Sand

The Nasca Lines are a series of massive geoglyphs carved into the landscape of Peru and since their discovery in the 1920's, speculation has followed them wherever their name is mentioned. Based on these geoglyphs, I started the piece "City of Sand"...

I want the piece to evoke both the people, the community and the lines... showing that these are NOT some heaven-sent miracle markings, some alien landing zones, as some have suggested, but rather that they are the religious and spiritual markings of a very real community of people, trying to get a grasp on their world, just like the rest of us....

Get some general info on the lines here...pretty interesting stuff.
