This is a piece I got working on last night. It was weird...i sat down with this piece and before I know it, it's about an hour and a half later, I have no white pastel left in my hand, and this is sitting in front of me. I'm not claiming alien abduction, "losing time" or that I skipped forward an hour, but it was really strange to come out of this trance-like state and really look at what i had been doing. It's not totally strange. I think when I do my best work I'm doing something similar and have a hard time coming back to reality. For instance, later in the night, I was working a bit and found myself having a hard time holding conversations and paying attention (sorry girlfriend cassie). I was totally focused on the piece in front of me. I think I just got lost in thought...and the TV...a bit more than usual, but really just worked fluidly and naturally to the point that I literally wasn't thinking about the piece and just made marks. It was refreshing, exciting and I think it ended with a great piece...
