This is my most recent piece, done last night. I've kinda been stuck while starting new pieces the last few tries. I've just been feeling like the abstract stuff isn't cutting it...they are just starting to feel fake, unimportant and little trivial. I know I go through this basically once a week so it's nothing new and nothing to overreact to, but recently I have been feeling like I need to start having a purpose in my work.
This piece was meant to bridge that gap...depicting something graspable without feeling like you are looking at an average outdoor scene. It has it's roots in reality, but floats around like a bit of a dream. It has something very "up front" about it, while still allowing a bit of interpretation. So there it is...whether i continue in this vein is yet to be seen, but I feel pretty good about this piece as of 10 seconds ago.
