Polar Bear and The Crown

I started writing a new book yesterday and actually found one that I had written when I first moved into the new place. The old story, for which I have yet to make into a book, is tentatively titled "Polar Bear" and follows a conversation between, you guessed it, two polar bears in the wide expanse of the arctic. One simply searches for food while the other thinks about the more important things in life. The dreams they had as children, the adventures they always pretended where around them. He reflects on what they dreamed of and what they have become, whether they should accept their place or venture forward, whether they should stand out or fade quietly into the white.

The second that has yet to be written is a slightly cryptic view, standing at the edge of the earth on the day the world will finally end. I believe it will be a much more critical view of the things that are happening. What has led there, what is happening, what will happen...a kind of Sci-fi psychological look at society at the end viewed through the eyes of a person born after the date has already been set and has grown up counting down...what will the end of the world be like for people that have known it's date from birth.

Anyways, I hope to get one or both of these done soon, both with completely different illustration styles. I think Polar Bear will be simple pen drawings with a kid-friendly feel while the "Crown" drawings may take on a more industrial, dirty, gritty texture....maybe a more hand-done look. anyways...it's in the works, keep an eye out.
