The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

Well the title is just "The Devil and God" but that whole title of a Brand New song was basically the starting point for the painting. It's not quite done yet and was actually started with the intention of creating a relaxing landscape....I guess I wasn't feeling very relaxed or landscapey last night.
Anyways, this is one of my more symbolic pieces I guess, stemming from that line but not meant to be taken completely literally. Sure that dynamic is present and fits the piece well, but it's also about a figurative God and Devil within yourself. The sides of yourself that are both beneficial and devastating and the parts of life that seem to pull each and every way.
I guess the point of it is that everyone has different things within their lives which they view as good and evil and both can potentially come out at times. The struggle to find the balance between the two and to figure out which is way to go is the challenge we all have to fight. The painting signifies the Devil and God in each of us and asks you to define them for yourself.

Well at least thats the intelligent way to say it. Put simply its about being generally unable to know where you are right now in regards to everything. It's about feeling bad for no particular reason, worrying about anything, and not having faith in even your most concrete assertions.
