Open House June 3rd

Gallery 218 and the Marshall Building are having an open house June 3rd starting at 6 and going till 9 or 10, depending on what gallery you are in. Come on down and see some new art by Daniel Fleming, Judith Hooks, and Bernie Newman. I will actually have multiple pieces up that have not been shown yet and I believe two that are still up from the last show as well as some prints and small pieces. Come on down to see my new large piece called  "The Flowers She Said She Sent," pictured below. Should be a good time.
This piece was based off of a photo taken at Camp Olson, to tell the truth, and was inspired by the billowing red spinnaker contrasting from the dark trees and grey clouds in the background. There were dazzling reflections in waves of the lake as the wind seemed to push the sail to the brink of bursting. The title was meant to reflect that build up energy from both the picture, and he effect from the linework that twist and bulge within the image. The flowers being something you look forward to, that thing that brings you up from the depths and fills you with excitement. The nervous longing for the moment they finally arrive and that feeling can finally be released.
