Milwaukee Domes Art Fest

So sometimes, though very rarely recently, I paint like someone who hasn't lost their mind and actually put together pretty relaxing, rather melancholy landscape, still life and figurative drawings and paintings. It's completely based on mood and whether I am "buying in" to my ideas at the moment I start the piece. Lucky for me I have been buying into the rhetoric lately and haven't had to struggle with the questions of "worth" in my own work and efforts, but it's starting to creep back in. While it's annoying, the tide happens to be turning at the right time. While I like working abstractly, even the most expressive pieces are based off of something real around me and being able to put a sort of fingerprint on a piece, something that identifies it more than just "the big red painting." Anyways, I got accepted as one of 12 artists into the Milwaukee Domes Art Fest Plein Air Competition which means I will be painting live landscape paintings over the three days of the festival. Check out my artists page on their site and plan on being there for the Fest. They've got tons of music acts, artist's booths, and multiple art auctions.
