Humans and Lions Appear At Preserved Mammoths Death


New evidence from an amazingly preserved young Woolly Mammoth leads scientists to believe that it may have been in a scuffle with a lion, then butchered by humans more than 10,000 years ago. If true, this is the first direct evidence of ancient human and animal interaction in this part of the world.

Another great find from this preserved carcass is the color of the hair. Lighter color for Mammoths was theorized in 2006 after gene studies, but now we have direct physical evidence giving mammoths strawberry-blonde coats, rather than the dark fur normally illustrated...
