Indeed. Unfortunately it came to this. I'll admit, the Giants were the team I thought we'd have a tough time with, but if GB was going to lose, this was the last way I expected. They just played badly....ON OFFENSE! The whole game. They'd drive for a bit...fumble, drop a pass or miss an open receiver. They'd give them the ball, and the defense would largely do their job and give the offense a second chance. They gave the offense all the chances in the world, yet we simply couldn't execute.
Four turnovers, 8 dropped passes, at least two wide open miss-throws...It was just one of those games where, even though you have hope they can pull it out, it just doesn't feel like it will happen. Add on that two GIANT miscues on the last play of the first half and the long play to Nicks earlier, and there's your recipe for losing by 17 points.
Now, to be totally honest, we don't have much to complain about. We witnessed, all in the last year, a GREAT playoff run, a super bowl victory, a run at undefeated, an MVP season from Rodgers (fingers crossed), one of the greatest offensive displays in all of football history, a #1 seed.....and two losses. Yes, this one hurts. I had a hard time watching the last few minutes. But we also had one of the best calendar years in the history of NFL teams...it might not seem like a good consolation...but it's better than any other team that doesn't win the Super Bowl this year can say.
And besides, at least we didn't lose 5 of our last 7 games and firing the GM isn't the highlight of the season...Bears fans
