Towers Reminiscent of 9/11?


This isn't really new, as it appears to have first made a splash in December, but I missed it and I think it's interesting. Architecture firm MVRDV is getting flack for a recent design for two skyscrapers that many seem to think look too much like the 9/11 attacks in a freeze-frame. Though the designers have come out in defense, angered viewers aren't quite seeing it their way...what do you think?

I can see the resemblance...but come on. Seriously? If we can't look at any skyscraper without thinking 9/11 we are really gonna have a hard time moving forward. And if something as simple as a tower having a wide, pixel-inspired section toward the middle is really gonna piss people off to the point that this has, we are in far worse shape as a society than we thought.
