10 Stones...When It Just Doesn't Work Quite Right

This is one of those 'other' pieces...the one that you worked on in tandem with another...the one that was only got worked on while the other was drying...the one that you aren't nearly as content with...one of those

And I actually like how it looks, it just never developed into anything more than that. While most of my work starts without a set destination, most everything creates its own concept through the process. It may be totally or somewhat arbitrary to start, but at some point meaning is applied, decisions are made, things have a purpose. This didn't quite work out that way and will probably result in a massive overhaul of the piece at some point.

All that said though, there's nothing here that tells me that I NEED to fix it or overpaint it immediately. I think I'm gonna let it marinate a bit and see if something begins to emerge as the desired direction. I'm already thinking that putting in more linework would help, maybe create a webbed network in the background of the image. Anyways, just part of making art. Some stuff is perfect, some stuff sucks, and some is right in the middle, wandering around waiting to be directed...and all of those are part of a healthy relationship with art.
