More Big Numbers for Contemporary Auctions

This 1976 piece by Francis Bacon sold for 44.8 Million, breaking it's high estimate

More big numbers were rolling in on a third straight night of contemporary art auctions, this time at Sotheby's. Artists like Twombly, Bacon, Lichtenstein and Warhol saw pieces go for large sums, while contemporary masters like Ai Weiwei and Gerhard Ricther also had good nights. Take a look.
