Inspired by images of newly re-dated cave paintings and the thought that they possibly could have been done by neanderthals, a close relative who died out around 30,000, I created The Kingdom of The Animals, an image of a lost time and a symbol of our lack of dominance.
At 6.5 feet wide and 2.5 feet tall, it's size creates the impression of standing before a painted wall. The wide landscape dominates your view as you sweep from left to right...the crowd of animals push edge of the canvas, as if they are about to burst from the within the constraints. Birds flutter, the sun shines and dust flies...all with no human influence...and without a thought about it.
