This is a public service announcement to anyone looking for, or currently in, a "creative" job. GET THICKER SKIN.
It's not that people might say things that hurt your feelings, it's that people WILL say things that hurt your feelings. And if you get upset every time it happens, people will STOP saying those things, They will stop looking, you will stop listening, and you will get defensive, all leading to less progression in your work and people not wanting to work with you.
I bring this up because, apparently, saying you dislike a certain list of posters from a week ago means that you are "whining", "mean", and "a knob." In fact, all I thought was that they were a little boring and simple for my taste; a fairly lazy take on making some modern movies with a retro flair. Nothing horrible...but far from the "coolest," as the title suggested.
I guess it just comes down to this. If you can't take critique, even so far as flat out insults, you're going to have a hard time dealing with the multitude of opinions faced if and when anything you make gets produced. People may love it, but you can almost guarantee that someone will hate it, and be somewhat vocal about it.
Deal with it.
It will happen, and if you react badly, THAT will be the thing that sticks in people's minds (not the design) and it will hurt your ability to get honest responses which will move you're creative ability forward. If you want to have an internet love fest where everyone gets a participation award, all the comments are "awesome" with 100 likes each, and everyone high fives till their hands are raw, then go ahead...but don't invite me...and don't expect to get anything valuable out of it.
