The main problem I see with this is that, now, basically both sides of the ferocious abortion argument have very concrete reasons to pull support. From the right, you can say they support abortion and bow to left-leaning pressure. From the left, it appears as though Komen was more interested in pleasing the right than helping catch and cure Cancer. Pissing off one side is bad...giving both sides a reason to believe you don't have a spine strong enough to stand for your beliefs is worse.
