Occupy Hypocrisy.......
Hey guys...the occupy thing is overall alright and the message is what matters there...but there is a whole lot of hypocrisy going on as well. All of us completely rely on the exact people they are protesting against and, while I dont want to say we should all throw down our products and really protest, we do need to realize what we are doing, take accountability for what we are doing and make a real decision. Is this REAALLLY something you are doing because you want things to change, or do you simply want distribution of wealth without having to change your life at all? I'm all for making things better for the masses, but if that means rich people simply handing down money, then no...I'm not for that. If you want to work for what you believe we deserve, if you want to fix the problem, if you want to create a life where we don't rely on the people we are protesting against, then alright, I can go with that. But if you want to complain about people getting rich off us, continue to use their products, and make no effort yourself to keep wealth local, then I really don't think you have much of anything to say and really no real passion for whatever you are doing.
For instance, how many people were protesting corporate greed while simultaneously mourning the death of Steve Jobs? How many people claimed to support the movement while they posted and tweeted, expressing sadness over the death of the billionaire CEO?
It's almost impossible to get corporations out of our lives, but maybe we should stop giving them so much of our money before we demand that they give it back.
