Dreaming the Heat of the Fields (update)

Hey all, I did a tiny bit more work on the piece and I think it's very close to being done...at least to the point I'm confident that I won't need to be uploading anymore drastic changes. Well, who knows what'll happen in six months, but at least right now I'm happy with where it's at.
I've been thinking about this piece for a while, trying to figure out exactly what it's all about. As with much of my work, it stems from ancient mark making, a link to the past...trying to connect with people through a linked history... but from there it gets a bit hazy. For me...the piece symbolizes a "calm within the storm." The peace achieved through introspection, meditation or inner thought. The "person" in the piece is dreaming or meditating with this chaos around them. This serene gaze shows through the murk of dashes, slashes and marks to create a sense of calm amidst the uncontrollable action.
