If you ever get the chance, you should watch this movie, or at least see parts of it at some point. Due to the fact their's no plot, story or words, I like to put it on as background, providing great cinematography and images that you'd wish for in any film, along with a great soundtrack, but allowing you to follow along without feeling like you're missing plot points and info when concentrating on something else.
Definitely a must for anyone interested in the human interaction and connection to nature, the piece explores the rural and urban landscapes, the integration of the two, and the juxtapositions within our lives and the world around us. It truly is a beautiful work of art and film, and a wonderful statement about our lives today. I encourage everyone to take some time out of their schedule to watch Koyaanisqatsi: Life Our of Balance, it's sequel Powaqqatsi: Life in transformation, and the newest addition to the trilogy Naqoyqatsi: Life as War. Check out some stills from the film...
