"We've Got Years of Experience" is another piece that was built off a slightly unsuccessful piece from a few years ago. It was almost the same as the piece above, but felt much less intentional. The previous piece let the barn fade a bit back into the scenery in a light blue while the 3/4 of the canvas was simply red, yellow and white. It was pretty...but that was about it. Was it bad? no, but it was one of those ones I just looked at and sighed...it was pretty, it was relaxing, but it didn't have any OOMPH behind it.
I know I talk about the value of art for the sake of art and art without a "goal" as being something valuable that has been forgotten, but I don't mean it was lacking oomph as in it lacking meaning. I mean it was just...there. It was pretty, which can be good, but it was pretty like a lampshade can be pretty. It doesn't mean you want to look at it more, it didn't make you interested....it was pretty like a supermodel...sure they might look nice but do you really want to have a conversation with 99% of them? probably not.
This has a little more PEPPAH! A lot more boldness and power. The black actually makes me look at the red and yellow more, wondering what they are, wondering what's happening...
