can you get these as pets!? i'd name him Brown Wilbert |
So some scientists recently unearthed the largest marsupial that has ever walked the planet in northern australia. The diprotodon, a relative of the much smaller modern day wombat, weighs in at around 3 tons and roamed the earth anywhere from 2million to 50,000 years ago. While it sounds fantastic, and rightfully so in today's terms, it was actually one of many mega-sized animals that roamed the earth back then. From giant 1 ton rodents to 6,000 pound kangaroos, and 17 ton rhino relative, the megafauna of prehistoric days were truly giants.
All I can hope for now is a dog sized gerbil and my dream pet is set! Or i guess this little dude in the photo could work too.
