The Paper Show!

I'm happy to announce that I am going to be participating in the "Paper Nation - Works on Paper" show at EFFJAY Projekts, open from August 4th-31st with an opening reception august 6th from 5-8pm in Sheboygan WI. It is the first juried show held by the gallery and sure to be a great success with all the fantastic artists around the city. My piece is included below and is called "(Stutter) But He's Got Great Personality" and was eventually translated  into a full painting which was recently sold to a dude in Chicago. Good choice chicago man, it was a solid piece. Anyways, I'm excited to get accepted and excited they picked the piece they did. I've always thought it was an interesting "sketch" and have always had trouble with the pieces I create on paper. Framing is expensive and often, I can't tell if I just like the energy and "incompleteness" of my works on paper or if they are actually successful works. It's a different attitude when I go to work on paper than on a large canvas and while that has always been something I would like to fix, it does result in work that is completely fresh and free.
