Work From The Weekend

I had a pretty busy weekend with Splash Studio getting underway, but I also managed to work on about 8 different pieces throughout the rest of the time. There's a few that I saved for tomorrow which all fit into their own little category of similar work...but here are a couple that I did yesterday while painting live outside of Splash in the Third Ward.

It was a little chilly, but for a couple hours the sun was shining right on the stoop and was just gorgeous. Great to see the weather getting nice for some Spring and Summer art...

For some reason, I was on a bit of a depressing subject matter yesterday. The concepts were all based on some troubling recent news stories, which gives the work a much more specific and timely meaning, something a bit out of the ordinary for my work lately...

TM - 2.26.12
based on the Trayvon Martin shooting

The Waters Change as Your Reach The Shore.
A piece about perception and realizing disaster

Water Burial
A piece inspired by the local Thomas Hecht tragedy

Fields
This one's more about mark-making than political, social or news commentary...
