I'm not really sure what this piece is all about...and maybe that's the point in itself. The title signifies there's something unknown, something unseen, something else, though it is not revealed. I think of it kind of like an accent piece...its not meant to punch you square in the nose when you see it on a wall, but it's definitely more than a color field, a poster, or a filler painting. I think the idea of the thing is to be below the surface. To gently wander its way into your consciousness until you give it a good look over and realize there's something there. Much of my work is impactful and bold and I suppose, with this piece, I wanted it to creep under the radar and surprise the viewer as they move closer, look closer, and begin to learn the piece.
