Maurice Sendak, author of Where the Wild Things Are (among 50 others), died Tuesday from complications of a recent stroke. The author changed children's books forever, taking them from the safe confines of nursery rooms and fairy-tale castles to a more dark and haunting land, challenging the genre and children alike. He will be missed but wholeheartedly remember through his wondrous stories and imagery. Rest in Peace.
