Why do the first images made by human hands look so stylised? Why have we, time after time, moved to and from representation in art? Is representation really what art's been about, or is the abstract an inherent desire of the human brain?
I'm only 48 min into this 5-6 hour miniseries, but I already would suggest it for anyone interested in art, it's history, and how it made us who we are today. Fascinating stuff...
