A Pretty, Pretty Bird. The What.

I got the idea for this piece from a book I got for christmas, Extinct Boids, a collection of bird illustrations by Ralph Steadman, the illustrator long-associated with the writer Hunter S. Thompson.

I don't think this piece really has a deep social meaning...but is more an investigation into abstraction and minimal lines, seeking to find how little can be done and still find representation...still find a connection to the world we live in despite a lack of apparent reality. This piece amounts to a few triangles, lines, and maybe a circle or two with some brief applications of color, yet an entire animal, emotion and even a bit of personality can be found...
