This is Territorial. The What and Evolving Meanings.

I had the subject of "vultures" rolling around my brain all week, a feeling of discontent with how I've been seeing people treating each other lately, and the song "without you my life would be boring" off The Knife's new album fresh in my mind (stream it here...http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2013/04/02/the_knife_new_album_shaking_the_habitual_stream_all_98_minutes_of_the_epic.html...It's track four)

All resulted in an aggressive and dark diptych, This is Territorial...

And I can't help from seeing some of yesterday's events coming through the smoke, haze, and carnage of the piece. Obviously that was not intended, since the bombings hadn't happened when I was working on the piece, but I think it's more evidence of a world that sees art depending on the history...ever-evolving with the experience of life.

With the horrific events from yesterday, this piece, its imagery and its title begins to take on a whole new meaning.

Some people are vultures...and what happened yesterday, this piece, and what yesterday's events have done to my perception of the piece prove that we need to keep on working to make sure we don't fall into the same trap.
